For all the gals in KAAS at BSF! And yes, all the fangirls here! ----------- The Prompt:
“This is ridiculous, Ash!” Kaidan complained for the dozenth time.
“Come on, LT, it’s for morale.” The wicked and appreciative grin on the Chief’s face made Kaidan feel uncomfortable and self-conscious. He also didn’t realize how cool the cargo bay was. Here’s hoping no one would decide to walk to this out of the way corner and see what the two Marines were doing. Especially when the Chief held a vid camera and he was wrapped in only in a towel.
“Whose morale?” Kaidan asked.
“The ship’s, of course. Hey, it is for all the women on the Normandy. We have some good looking men on this ship and well, indulge the girl’s fantasies.”
“I only want to indulge one.” Kaidan muttered under his breath.
Ashley chuckled low in her throat. “Oh, don’t you worry. Shepard will get the first copy of the calendar.”
Kaidan blushed furiously at the Chief’s statement. “Then let’s get this over with!” He bit out tersely, feeling exposed.
The Chief raised the camera and directed Kaidan to lean back against the crates. He was leaning stiffly and that frustrated Ashley that the man couldn’t relax for just a little bit. “Come on, LT, relax!” “I’ll try but there is so much I will do.”
“You always stand in the squad leaning back when Shepard does the negotiating, so do that thing you do.”
“God, I can’t believe I’m doing this.” Kaidan sighed heavily and leaned back on the crates, crossing his arms.
“One thing…” Ashley whipped the towel off his waist and snapped the image before Kaidan sputtered in indignation.
“What’s going on here?” a voice called from behind the crates and Mira walked around the corner to see Kaidan tearing the towel out of Ashley’s hands, his face red with embarrassment. He glared at the Chief and tried to stand at attention for Shepard.
Her eyes were wide open in shock and the corner of her mouth twitched upward a little in catching a glimpse of Kaidan’s ‘assets’. Ashley had a hand over her mouth, hiding the grin spread across her face.
“Nothing, ma’am. I’m sorry, Commander…” Kaidan stuttered and quickly retreated while some of his dignity was intact. Of all people to see this and it had to be Shepard. He didn’t want to see her like this, not this way, at least.
Joker’s laughter was heard over the comm. “Oh, man! That is one for the books!”
“Joker! You have something to say?” Shepard snapped at him, trying to salvage something of her officer’s pride.
“Uh, no,….ma’am.” Joker’s jaw was audibly heard to snap shut, after he heard the steely tone in Shepard’s voice.
“Chief?” Shepard looked to the young woman. “Care to explain?”
“Um, ma’am,…..I was….putting a project together…for morale.”
“Whose morale, Chief?” Shepard crossed her arms.
Ashley chewed at her lower lip and looked right at Shepard. “For the women crew, ma’am. The men have their pin-up calendars and well, why don’t we have one? But since we can’t wait to get this calendar published properly, I was taking pictures for each month….”
Ashley’s voice trailed off as Shepard’s face closed.
“I understand the need to keep morale up, Chief, but….” Her eyes sparkled with a hint of mischief. “why wasn’t I in on this?”
The Chief let out a breath she was holding. “I was saving this month special for you, Commander.”
“Oh?” Shepard’s eyebrow quirked up.
“You will be the first to get the picture, ma’am, once it’s ready.” Ashley grinned.
“Make sure I do, Chief. Dismissed.” Shepard watched the young woman scurry around the crates and then she had to lean on them and suppress laughter at her marine’s antics. This photo had better be worth it, she thought.
--Two weeks later--
As Shepard was heading to her cabin for the night, there was a slight cough off to the side. Ashley walked over to her and handed a data pad and walked off. Ashley winked at Kaidan, who was back at the console next to her cabin, fixing something again. The Lieutenant blushed and ducked his head back into the console.
As she entered, Shepard turned on the data pad and took a look at what was there. There was a little flicker on the pad and an image was brought up. Instead of what the Chief meant to give her, it was a compromising picture of the Normandy’s pilot, watching porn at his flight console extranet terminal. Shepard flicked off the pad, blushing herself at what she had just seen and was wondering if this was what Ashley meant to give her not. A moment of indecision on whether to go to Ashley was stalled as the door chime sounded. “Come in.” she said, keeping irritation out of her voice. To her surprise, Kaidan walked in, standing stiffly before her. “At ease, Lieutenant.”
“Permission to speak freely, Commander?” he asked, rubbing at the back of his neck nervously.
“What’s on your mind, Kaidan?”
“I’m guessing Ashley gave you the photo she took a couple weeks back?”
“Uh,…well, I received something…”
“I don’t know how I was talked into doing that, Shepard, and I want to apologize!” Kaidan interrupted her. “It was embarrassing and not becoming of a senior officer.”
“Kaidan….”
“So, if you could please, just delete the photo and forget you saw it.” Shepard sighed exasperatedly, “Kaidan! Don’t worry about it.” Her gaze softened as she caught his eyes in the soft lighting of the cabin.
Kaidan sighed and gave a soft chuckle. “Damn it, Shepard, you keep saying that but…”
She rested her fingertips on his lips, quieting any further protests. This was the most embarrassed she had seen the man, during the years they ran into each other. “Would you shut up?” Her mouth widened in a gentle smile. Flicking the data pad on, she showed Kaidan what was there.
His eyes widened in surprise and then he laughed. “It seems that bug I was tracking made it into the mobile archives. Oh, should we tell Joker?”
“Nah. It’s rare we get this opportunity to have something to hold over his head.”
“Shepard, you are evil!” Kaidan moved closer to her and looked down into her blue eyes. They stood there, gazing at each other, bodies moving closer together. Kaidan raised a hand to brush a lock of hair that fell into Mira’s eyes. “Shepard….” He swallowed.
“Kaidan…” Her lips parted, inviting Kaidan to kiss them.
“What the ****!” Joker’s voice broke through the comm interrupting the moment. “Commander! Do you kNOW what is being handed around!?”
Kaidan’s hand dropped to his side and shook his head. “I think he found that image.”
“You think?” Shepard said, frowning slightly at the lost opportunity of the blackmail and of kissing Kaidan.
“I better go, Shepard.” Kaidan turned on his heel and walked out. Shepard let out a breath, fanning her face from the heat generated between her and Kaidan.
“Commander!” Joker demanded over the comm.
“I’ll be right there to address your issue, Joker.”
Not that I'm into solo male pics, but you don't see much fan art featuring such (no matter what the subject matter).
Matter of fact, I did an 'experiment' featuring a 'male' Asari, but was too chicken to post the nude version here (and considering his... 'attributes'... I don't know if I could post it at DA anyway): [link] hxxp://tinyurl.com/48dxay4
